SAMI Announces the Opening of a Manufacturing Facility for Composite Aerospace Components

Composite manufacturing facility SAMI Composites LLC has been launched by the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to create composite parts for structural aerospace sub-assemblies.

South of Riyadh International Airport, the SAMI Composites LLC plant covers 27,000 square meters and includes 10,000 square meters of production and support facilities. Including fuselage and wing pieces, skin panels, and moving surfaces, the facility can produce composite structural components and assemblies.

The Chairman of SAMI, H.E. Ahmed Al-Khateeb, said: “In keeping with our commitment to assisting the accomplishment of Vision 2030 goals, we at SAMI have a significant focus on growing Saudi Arabia’s capabilities in the aerospace and defense industries. By partnering with globally recognized OEMs, the new composite manufacturing plant will play an important role in pushing the localization of our competencies, growing Saudi aerospace exports and strengthening the technical skills of Saudi citizens in the defense industries sector,” he says.
