A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been struck between Emirates and Gulf Air to expand commercial collaboration between the two airlines.

An MOU between Emirates and Gulf Air establishes a framework for future codeshare cooperation throughout both airlines’ networks to extend reciprocal rewards for Skywards and Falconflyer members. There are also conversations underway to begin cargo cooperation between the two airlines.

The MoU was signed on the opening day of the Dubai Airshow, which signifies the beginning of a deeper collaboration between the two airlines. Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, and Captain Waleed AlAlawi, Acting CEO of Gulf Air, signed the MoU. Also in attendance were executives from both airlines’ management teams.

You can book a single-ticket flight with affordable fares and one-stop baggage checks into your ultimate destination when flying on Emirates or Gulf Air flights provided by these two airlines. Gulf Air and Emirates will both begin using the “EK” marketed code on flights between Bahrain and Dubai, and Gulf Air will begin using the “GF” marketed code on flights operated by Emirates.

“This will be a fantastic relationship between one of the first airlines in the Gulf area and one of the biggest carriers in the world,” Gulf Air’s Acting CEO remarked during the ceremony. As a result of our partnership with Emirates, we will be able to extend our boutique services to Emirates’ passengers who fly on our network while also expanding our reach.
