MRO services for Vietjet’s CFM56-5B engine fleet, installed on the airline’s Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, have been secured through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth US$150 million by SR Technics, a world leader in MRO. SR Technics’ world-renowned Zurich Airport facilities will be used for the engine work. As part of a joint venture with SR Technics, Vietjet and SR Technics have signed an agreement to provide engine maintenance and technical and training services, component requirements, and repair and to set up a new Aviation training centre.
In the presence of the President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Swiss Confederation President Guy Parmelin, high-ranking dignitaries and business representatives from both countries, the signing ceremony was held.
Vietjet, Vietnam’s largest domestic airline in terms of passengers, has a wide flight network throughout the country and the Asia-Pacific. It has restarted a series of international flights to and from Vietnam and plans to expand its operations across the globe in the near future. ‘ Vietjet is proud to have one of the region’s and the world’s most up-to-date fleets.
