MAI has received an Embraer E190 from TrueNoord, a regional leasing specialist, after completing the delivery (Myanmar Airways International). At Yangon International Airport, the plane will fly domestic routes in Myanmar as well as regional destinations in Southeast Asia.

From Air Astana, the previous lessee of the aircraft, MAI, has taken possession of the plane. We are pleased to support MAI and the people of Myanmar in these difficult times,” Carst Lindeboom, Sales Director – Asia Pacific, said in a statement.

As the Asian market continues to diversify, we are constantly establishing new relationships and investigating new regional aircraft leasing opportunities. Many countries and operators are dealing with the pandemic situation in various ways; our creative leasing solutions help them meet their operational and commercial needs. Regional planes are frequently used to transport people and essential supplies to remote areas across complex geographic zones. In addition to helping our airline customers rebuild their commercial flight programmes, we are dedicated to providing these critical services ourselves. We’re looking forward to working with MAI again.”

According to MAI’s Deputy CEO, U Kyaw Han, “Our pilots, cabin crew, maintenance crew, and our staff are proud to take MAI’s 3rd E190 to the skies and to serve our passengers with an enhanced flying experience,” he said. TrueNoord is a promising business partner with whom we look forward to working together in the future. The E190’s operation is a significant step forward in MAI’s fleet expansion strategy and the expansion of the domestic jet network.
