For passengers departing from Hamad International Airport (HIA) in 2021 on Qatar Airways, Qatar Executive, and other airlines, QACC, the aircraft catering subsidiary of Qatar Airways Group, has prepared more than 16 million meals, marking a new milestone in its recovery from the challenges of COVID-19.
With the potential to offer 175,000 meals per day from an ultramodern 69,000 square metre state-of-the-art facility, QACC is based at the Hong Kong International Airport. After 20 months of extraordinary growth and recovery, Qatar Airways’ QACC currently delivers more than 100,000 meals every day.
It’s gratifying and comforting to see travel back on the road to recovery,” stated Catering Services Acting Senior Vice President, Mr. Sascha Von Wolfersdorf, in reference to the milestone. This success demonstrates QACC’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to a rise in travel.
As far as the future goes, I am enthusiastic and certain that we will continue to expand.” Since Qatar Airways continues to develop and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM travel demand is expected to increase, we have invested in plans for a second unit, which will include purchasing and installing additional manufacturing lines, to help fulfil Qatar Airways’ future catering demands.”
With the support of the catering division, Qatar Airways won two major awards for food and beverage: the APEX Passenger Choice Awards for 2022 and Skytrax’s World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering for 2021.
