Aerospace educational, technical training and applied research programmes will be provided by the Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) and Turkish Aerospace in Malaysia, under the terms of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC).
As part of the agreement, the two organisations will collaborate on the development of human capital and faculty and academics programmes, with a particular focus on initiatives aimed at growing Malaysia’s pool of future aerospace industry talent and addressing research challenges surrounding the industry’s future and air power in general.
Light aircraft and drone maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) will be a major emphasis of the partnership. This is in keeping with the goals of the RMK-12 Malaysia Aerospace Industry Development Framework and the Malaysia Aerospace Industry 2030 Blueprint.
“We are thrilled to cooperate with UniKL MIAT to promote aerospace education and training programmes in Malaysia,” stated Professor Dr. Temel Kotil, President and CEO of Turkish Aerospace. “This cooperation might allow us to help Malaysia become a regional aerospace champion while also meeting the need for highly trained people in that region’s fastest-growing aviation sector.”
